Gatlin's Baby Story

We LOVE baby stories! From maternity photos to newborn photos, we love to document your baby's story of their brand new life. It starts with the pregnancy photos - their first home! Then we really love showing your family going from 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 or more!

This family went from a family of 3 to a family of 4 with the arrival of baby brother Gatlin! Our favorite part is showing that family of three photo right before the family of four photo below. Go ahead, stop, look a minute and really let it sink in that this new little baby boy made up the next member of this family. Life will never be the same!

His big sister is sooo proud to be a big sister! She loves her baby brother and was so good snuggling and loving on him. We love all the dynamics in a family as you grow your families! The sibling bonds, the mommy and son bonds, the daddy and son bonds. LOVE those sweet moments of showing this amazing new little creation being welcomed into your family!

Welcome to the world, little mister Gatlin!

Naomi's Maternity & Newborn Photo Story

Happy 1st Day of Spring! We thought it was fitting to share Naomi's newborn photo story on the first day of spring because she looks like a little spring princess in all the flower crowns we put on her!

Naomi's parents and her big brother doggie Rocky were so excited as they waited to meet Naomi. We had so much fun (even though it was freezing) taking their maternity pictures in front of Garden of the Gods. Colorado is so beautiful. This family is beautiful. To put this adorable family in that scenery is like the cherry on a sundae!

Little miss Naomi was born at only 6 lbs, 12 oz with curly hair and so little bitty that she fit all the way inside our yellow bucket at her newborn session! It's was so great to take the newborn photos at Naomi's home. It was comfortable for everyone and made great memories! We love incorporating family pictures in the newborn photo session. That includes ALL family - big brother Rocky and grandma who was visiting!

We had fun matching mom and daughter in the same teal headband and fabric! Her mom during the maternity session and then once Naomi was here we matched her to mom at her newborn session.

How sweet is little miss Naomi in all her newborn photos? That hair! Those sweet little bitty pink lips and toes with all those rolls. She is just cute in every photo! Precious little sweetheart. We loved photographing Naomi's story!

Newborn Photography | Stella, 14 days

Stella's newborn session was a wonderful gift from an awesome friend to Stella's family. She knew that this was their last baby (the youngest of 4!) and so it was the perfect time to get family and newborn photos of Stella.

I love to take photos of families in their homes on mom and dad's bed. You will see it as a recurring theme in my photos. It's where everyone hangs out anyway, right? haha! I absolutely adore this family photo, and they did too since they got a HUGE canvas to display over their fireplace. I love it!

Stella slept so soundly throughout her session that we got all the family photos and her individual ones done in just 2 hours! Very rare! Usually it's a little longer. But she slept like a champ and let me put her in any outfit and any pose. She's just so adorable with all that HAIR!!

One more little story about Stella's newborn session. When her family came to view and choose their photos, during the slideshow, biggest sister and big brother stopped playing and quietly watched. As the photo of Stella in the yellow wrap and flower crown came on the screen, big sister whispered, she looks like an angel. Big brother whispered, she looks like a fairy - she's a fairy angel! Proceed with heart melting!

Thea, 5 week Newborn, Colorado Springs Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

Even if you can't get newborn photos done in the first 10 days, I still take "newborn" photos all the way up to 6 weeks old. They are just still so small and I think it's important to capture their newborn essence. Thea wa 5 weeks old at the time of her session and even though we had to work a little harder to get her to sleep, mom and dad knew all the tricks by then to help put her to sleep. Big sister Cougar even helped out. There's one photo (not shown) of Thea crying and Cougar put her paw on her hand as if to comfort her. It was precious!

Welcome to the world, Thea!
