Logan is such an adorable little boy! At only 15 days old at the time of his session, he had already stolen all the hearts of those around him. He was a great sleeper during his photo session in his home. But first he wanted to make sure we got a few photos with his eyes open before he went to sleep for the rest of the time. We even got a huge smile out of him! And since we took his photos on the 4th of July, we had to get a few of him in his red, white and blue. His nursery is decorated in monkeys so I found a little monkey hat for him - and even a banana to go with it! So much fun for this little summer baby!
Welcome to the world, Logan!
Miles at only 7 days old was the most alert newborn I've photographed. His direct gaze watched what was happening around him as I took his photos. He was probably awake and content about as much time as he was asleep. Maybe more! :) His parents, who so obviously adore him, put lots of time in to planning for his arrival. His robot nursery is just adorable! We started out with him in his crib surrounded by his robot friends on the sheets. I love the next photo after this cute one - such a unique expression - like he thinks we are all so silly! I can just see him with that same expression as he grows up. It's amazing how our personalities begin to develop from day 1.
We had a great time dressing Miles up and laughing as we did. He makes the cutest little bear and Cookie Monster!
Enjoy the photos of newborn Miles, 7 days new!
A special blanket that belonged to Miles' dad...
I love photographing baby milestone sessions! (See Watch Me Grow) I usually recommend taking them a few times in their first year like 3-4 months (tummy time), 6-7 months (sitting up), 9 months (standing) and then 1st Birthday (cake smash and bubble bath!). Lucy's mom was right on with setting up Lucy's milestone session at 3.5 months old. She can do tummy time (for a couple of minutes!). And she sucks on her hands, plays with her tongue and she just discovered her feet! And my favorite thing about the first year milestone sessions is seeing their cute little personalities emerge! Lucy is no exception. She smiles and laughs (especially when her dad says monkeymonkeymonkey over and over again!) and she has the deepest blue eyes I've seen on a 3 month old. It makes the serious photos just gorgeous!
I can wait to see this cutie in another couple of months for her next milestone session and see all her new changes!
We did Christopher's photos on his one month birthday. Even though I recommend newborn photos be done before 10 days old, in some cases it still works. In Christopher's case, he was born early and spent awhile in NICU before going home. He was only 9 pounds when we took his 1 month newborn photos so he was still technically in that newborn size range. We worked our magic to get Christopher to sleep (food and heat) and it worked perfectly! A little too perfectly actually since mom really wanted some awake photos as well. But he finally opened his eyes for just a minute and I got it. He has the clearest baby blue eyes ever. Such a heart breaker!
I love Christopher's Winnie the Pooh nursery! We had to take some photos in there and around the house. While we were doing the photo looking over mom and dad's shoulder down at him, he was all smiles. Then I asked mom and dad to kiss and instantly Christopher made a face. lol! It was so funny that I had to include it in his sneak peek today.
I absolutely had too much fun taking Christopher's photos and can't wait to see him grow up in front of my camera! Welcome to the world, little mister Christopher!
